Wednesday 5th July, 19:30
Paul Kerensa is a British Comedy Award-winning writer, (BBC’s Miranda, Not Going Out), comedian (ITV’s Take the Mike)… and broadcast historian.
In this special live show, he’ll bring jokes, tales and songs in one half, and a unique insight into the BBC’s first year of 1922-23 in the other half. Relive the first radio drama, first children’s programme, first on-air comedian, first religious broadcast (well, we are in a church) and much more will be brought to the stage, in a true tale of pioneers, gramophone records and singers who keep dancing away from the microphone (force of habit) – inspired by Paul’s podcast ‘The British Broadcasting Century’ and his forthcoming book ‘Auntie and Uncles’.
