Popular world music choir Voices of the Forest, led by their inspirational MD Fabian Lochner, is delighted to be performing as part of the prestigious Romsey Festival for the first time. This accomplished and renowned local choir has performed previously to great acclaim in Romsey. Their new repertoire takes us all on an inspirational journey across the globe with songs of travel, of birds and of migration, sung in original languages, mostly in parts and all a cappella. Some originate from our shores, and some from far distant lands and oceans.
Fabian, also an accomplished pianist, will complement the choral programme with some beautiful and evocative piano pieces.
Voices of the Forest is a mixed-voice world music choir of around 50 singers. They have performed in many prestigious venues including Bath Abbey, Wells Cathedral, Romsey Abbey, Beaulieu Abbey Church and Christchurch Priory. Their ethos is to represent the ‘human condition’ of peoples across the world, and they are proud to support the work of Medecins sans Frontieres, whose heroic volunteers bring free medical care to civilians in some of the most dangerous areas of the world. Profits from this event will be donated to them.
